She has years of experience assisting students with concerns related to their educational progress, personal growth, and general well-being. An officer, a mentor, a teacher—remembering Gary Apperson

Undergraduate Criminal Justice Instructor Gary Apperson loved hiking near his home in Anchorage, Alaska.
Gary Apperson was a police officer by trade, but a teacher by heart. He served on the Anchorage (Alaska) Police Force from 19772002. After retiring, he pursued a Master of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville and graduated in spring 2006. He then went on to serve as an adjunct instructor for the university, teaching courses for the online undergraduate criminal justice program. Gary passed away on January 28, 2017, from cancer complications. Read more

March 1 – Application deadline for the Distance Education Alumni Board Scholarship.
March 24 – Last day to drop a spring 2017 course; no refund available and $45 drop fee will be applied.
