Reminder to Schedule Your Preventive Vision Care Visit
We know that life can get busy, and sometimes, we forget about the little things, like scheduling our routine vision check-ups. As the mid-point of 2025 quickly approaches and in recognition of Cataract Awareness Month, we want to remind plan participants to schedule your preventive eye care visit, if you have not already, to secure your appointment. Staying on top of your eye health not only keeps your vision sharp, but also plays a significant role in overall health and well-being.

Your GW Vision Benefits: Coverage, Exams, and More
Regular vision check-ups are essential for maintaining good eye health. Taking advantage of your vision benefits, allows for timely detection of potential eye conditions and treatment of any concerns.
In addition to a preventive care exam, GW's vision insurance plans also cover eye glasses with standard single vision, lined bifocal or lined trifocal lenses, standard scratch-resistant coating and the frame, or contact lenses in lieu of eye glasses dependent on your plan. For more information, view the summary list of covered services and costs for the basic and the enhanced vision plans.
GW's vision insurance plans operate on a calendar-year basis and are determined by the last date of service. To be eligible for your annual vision exam, it must be scheduled at least 366 days after your last exam.
