Staff Council provides a forum for staff across the university to make recommendations, present new ideas, and voice concerns. All staff are welcome to reach out to one of Student Life’s five representatives, Lisa Bland, Erin Ellis, Niesha Nixon, Chelsea Sentell, and Ta’Nesha Ward, with any topic you would like to have presented to the full council. This year's Staff Council Initiatives are Onboarding Guidelines, Communities of Practice, Remote Employee Benefit and Equity, Staff Promotion Process/Structure, and Staff Regent. Compliance Training: All Baylor faculty and staff are required to complete the Courageous Conversations training in Ignite before December 4. In addition, staff who advise student organizations must also complete the Hazing Prevention: Faculty/Staff Edition training. Thank you for taking time to complete these important trainings, which help ensure a safe, inclusive, and respectful campus community.

Memorial to the Enslaved Persons Dedication – On 11/7, we dedicated Baylor’s Memorial to Enslaved Persons. The Memorial is one outcome from Baylor’s Commission on Historic Campus Representations – whose report was unanimously approved by the Baylor Board of Regents in 2021. It is the result of 5 years of dedicated work meant to complete the story of Baylor University by memorializing the contributions of unnamed enslaved persons who helped to build our first campus in Independence.
