FMCA News: Fall fun for all ages
FMCA News: Fall fun for all ages
The Mile Marker
Dear RV Friend,
The summer vacation season has ended, but it’s definitely not time to put away the RV just yet.
Tailgating Season
The boys of fall are back on the field, and weekends are filled with gridiron action. That also means it’s tailgating season! Pack up your favorite foods and beverages, head for the stadium parking lot, and enjoy the pre-game fun with friends and family. Get prepped with these tailgating tips
Support Your Team, Join A Chapter
Did you know FMCA has chapters that focus on supporting college football teams? Wouldn’t it be fun to connect with a group of friends who share your love of RVing and your passion for rooting on your favorite team?
Current sports fan chapters include the Hokie Travelers (Virginia Tech), Gamecock Cruisers (University of South Carolina), and Sooner Coaches (University of Oklahoma).
Let's Get Cookin'
Fall also brings to mind thoughts of gathering around the campfire to enjoy a meal or just some good conversation. One popular campfire cooking method utilizes Dutch ovens, cast-iron creations that lend themselves to cooking everything from breakfast to dinner.
Here is a hearty 5 Layer Dutch Oven Country Breakfast recipe. Even more camping-friendly recipes can be found here.
Happy Thanksgiving
Fall also brings traditional celebrations. Happy Thanksgiving to our friends in Canada on Monday, October 8.
Safe travels,
The FMCA Team

RV Basics - Why We Love FMCA
I just want to say that the RV Basics course my wife and I took has paid for itself many times over. We have been glamping a lot since we took the course, and I have found three park power pedestals that were wired incorrectly — finding them thanks to you!

RV Know-How = Priceless

Autumn Leaf Wreath Craft
Leaf Art
Autumn Wreath Crafts

Savor the colors of fall with kids of all ages. Even the tiniest travelers can enjoy making an autumn leaf wreath.

Materials
  • Paper plates or cardboard circles (adults cut out the middle)
  • Colorful fall leaves
  • Bottled glue
  • Ribbon or rope
Note: Extra decorations can include pinecones, artificial leaves or flowers, paper cutouts, or any other craft supplies.
Directions
Artists apply glue to the circle and then attach the leaves in any color or pattern they desire. Once the wreath is complete, tie the ribbon/rope to create a hanger. The result: a practically zero-weight decoration to hang in the RV.
