Sample Handout for Community: Creating a Child Safe Environment |
Educating parents, guardians, and other community members on your abuse prevention policies is critical to gaining support and holding everyone accountable. Our sample Child Safe Environment Handout is a great tool you can use to explain the different types of abuse, red-flag behaviors, your organization's policies, and reporting procedures. Download this handout to use with your community, and adapt it to reflect your brand and specific policies/procedures.

Group Scenario Exercise: Medical Event in the Pool |
Every lifeguard needs to be prepared for something to happen in your pool or waterfront. To support you, we are testing out a new type of group training exercise. In this exercise, your lifeguards will walk through a scenario based on a real-world incident that Redwoods investigated. This will encourage your guards to shift their mindset and move the discussion from theoretical knowledge of what someone should do if an incident occurs, to a practical imagining of what we will do when something happens on our watch. We encourage you to use this exercise at your next staff training. We’ve included the scenario cards along with a facilitator’s guide to walk you through it.

If you are a Redwoods customer, and an incident occurs at your organization this summer, please report it immediately. The sooner it is reported to us, the better placed we are to respond appropriately.
For information on how to report an incident, visit redwoodsgroup.com/report-now/.
