Today, December 30, 2020, Governor Whitmer signed Senate Bill 54, reinstating the Michigan Historic Preservation Tax Credit.
The new law has yet to be assigned a Public Act number and published. We will provide that information when available.
Be aware that although the credit is effective as of January 1, 2021, applications will not be available or accepted until the SHPO conducts a public rule making process. The timeline for this is not yet set, but we will keep you up-to-date on this process and how you can participate through our social media and newsletters.
