March for Life Pilgrimage
Walsh University students and staff joined forces with members of Kent State and Youngstown State Newman Centers to travel to Washington, D.C., for the National March for Life on Friday, Jan. 20. More than 60 participated in the pilgrimage. After an overnight journey to the nation’s capital, pilgrims attended Holy Mass at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, visited the Dominican House of Studies for a short tour, and then headed to the National Mall for the Rally for Life, which featured prominent speakers such as legendary coach Tony Dungy and actor Jonathan Roumie (star of The Chosen). With scores of others, our students marched peacefully and prayerfully to the Capitol Building before making their way to Union Station for the bus ride home. This was the 50th National March for Life, and an especially historic event, marking the first March following the summer 2022 reversal of the Supreme Court decision Roe v Wade. Walsh proudly stands for the unborn in their right to live.

Emergency Closing Policy
Winter has arrived! This serves as an important reminder about the University’s Emergency Closing Policy. Please read the following information carefully and be safe on the roads this season!
It is important to remember that the University only moves to remote operations or closes for extreme conditions and circumstances. Walsh University usually remains open when area high schools and elementary schools close, as our population is comprised of adults, with a substantial portion residing on campus.
However, during extreme conditions due to severe weather, major utility failure or other reasons, the university may move to remote operations, or close all or parts of the campus. Every attempt will be made to announce the decision by 5:00 a.m. for day classes and events and 3:00 p.m. for evening classes and events.
Information will be provided through the WU Alert notification system and campus website.
