Today, members of the Clemson University and City of Clemson communities will join together for a Joint City University Advisory Board (JCUAB) meeting to kick off the academic year. The advisory board was established in 1985 and is focused on strengthening the relationship between the University and the city.

The Department of Historic Properties and the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute will continue celebrating the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution through a series of free events this fall, including a book club, documentary film series and day trips to historic sites across the Upstate.
- Associate professor Xian Lu is a co-investigator on a NASA mission researching how changes in Earth’s lower atmosphere influence the planet’s upper atmosphere, where space weather is manifested.

When Erika Hwang, a first-generation college student, earned her bachelor’s degree from Clemson in 2018, she thought one chapter was closing. What followed was a journey that led to three Clemson degrees and a career in higher education. Hwang receives her doctorate in animal science today, completing a path shaped by faculty mentors, hands-on teaching experiences and a passion for helping students discover their potential.
