Integrating Volunteer Stewardship into Visitor Itineraries

Travel Oregon’s 10-Year Strategic Vision focuses our work on a stewardship approach. In response to increased industry interest around the topic of volunteer stewardship and to capture learnings from recent projects, Travel Oregon developed the Volunteer Stewardship Experiences: Key Learnings Summary Report. This report provides context, case studies and best practice recommendations for organizations and businesses interested in supporting or developing visitor itineraries that include volunteer stewardship experiences; it also shares learnings from recent projects such as the McKenzie Regenerative Travel project (sponsored by Travel Oregon). The target audience for this report includes, but is not limited to RDMOs, DMOs, tour operator and guide businesses, stewardship nonprofits and land managers.

      Remembering Dan Wieden

For more than 34 years, Travel Oregon has partnered with ad agency, Wieden+Kennedy. From the beginning, Dan Wieden was the creative executive that oversaw all of Travel Oregon’s campaign work. Dan passed on September 30 leaving a legacy in Oregon and around the world. Dan was a visionary and an icon who will be greatly missed. Travel Oregon will remember Dan for his humor, his dedication and his incredible work on campaigns like the 7 Wonders of Oregon and Oregon, Only Slightly Exaggerated.
