Coming Soon: A New Look to UCPath
|
UCPath is getting a makeover! Beginning in July, employees and managers will see a brand new user interface in the Self-Service portal. The new layout is mobile-friendly and will have increased accessibility features for all users.
The expanded menu options, now conveniently placed at the top of the page (similar to Blink), provide a quick and easy way to access paycheck information, benefits, leave balances, and more:

Rehired Retiree Benefit Eligibility System Updates
|
UCPath Center has completed updates to internal benefit eligibility processes for rehired retirees to ensure compliance with federal regulations. This enhancement prepares UCPath to determine benefit eligibility for rehired retirees and their dependents in alignment with UC’s benefits eligibility policy that will be in effect beginning July 1, 2025.
Key changes effective July 1 include:

- UC will offer rehired retirees who return to UC employment within 26 weeks (6 months) of retirement, and who meet specific eligibility criteria, the “Mid-level” faculty/staff benefits package
- UC will suspend retiree medical benefits for any rehired retiree who qualifies for faculty/staff benefits, regardless of whether they enroll

When rehired retirees lose eligibility for faculty/staff benefits, because their UC employment ends or their hours fall below the eligibility threshold, they may re-enroll in the medical plan of their choice under the UC retiree health program

Updates to Ask UCPath Case Search
|
UCPath Center implemented a change to the Ask UCPath interface to improve system performance and ensure continued access to case history while supporting long-term platform scalability. Users will now notice the following:
|

A rolling 5-year data filter for global case searches to reduce load times and enhance the search experience for active or recent cases
- A new method to access historical cases:

Navigate to Ask UCPath > Select Other Resources > Historical Cases from the menu
- Enter Employee Name or Employee ID to retrieve associated cases that were closed beyond the 5-year timeframe

IMPORANT NOTE REGARDING DIRECT RETROS: UCOP is deprecating the Direct Retro (DR) tool in UCPath effective July 1, 2025. Please perform Direct Retros in UCPath for any remaining payroll transactions that will require the use of the Direct Retro tool and have them approved by June 25, 2025.

Funding Issues Report – Payroll & Financial Non-restricted
- Removed incorrect filter for the No Task or Funding Source tab to include non-sponsored projects that do have a funding source. Researching with ITS-BIA to add correct version of filter in near future.
