HONORARY DEGREE Most Rev. José H. Gomez, the archbishop of Los Angeles, will be conferred an honorary degree in humane letters at LMU on Jan. 30, 2018. LMU is recognizing Archbishop Gomez’s work as a voice of compassion and reason on moral and spiritual issues in American public life and culture.

Nathan Sessoms, director of the Office of Black Student Services, welcomed more than 200 people to St. Robert’s Auditorium to pay homage to Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. President Timothy Law Snyder, Ph.D., was among the speakers who honored King’s legacy. The breakfast event also featured singing and table discussions.
