Saturns have always been among the most difficult sculpture that Josh makes. For the first Saturns, made in the early 1990s, Josh would start by creating a Planet, and he would then hand that Planet to an assistant to keep hot while he made the surrounding disk. Then, in an ancient, tricky, and delicate process, the hot planet and the disk were merged together. After hours of work, one tiny mistake often spelled disaster.
