Hello future health professionals!
"Becoming is better than being." -Carol Dweck, Mindset
As a pre-health student, it can sometimes feel like every grade, activity, and milestone carries enormous weight. It's easy to get caught up in the idea that you need to have everything figured out or that a single setback will define your future. In reality, challenges and setbacks are where the most important learning happens!
As you work toward your goals, try not to focus solely on where you are today. Instead, take time to recognize how far you've come and what you're learning along the way. The qualities that make outstanding healthcare professionals, such as curiosity, adaptability, empathy, and perseverance, are developed over time.
Remember: your goal is not to be a perfect pre-health student. Your goal is to keep growing into the healthcare professional you hope to become!
Best,
GW Pre-Health Advising Team
