Annual RV maintenance shows up as an underlying theme in many of my articles, as its importance can’t be overstated. Failure to have your RV serviced every year, or even more often as required, can lead to expensive repairs later. Foremost among them is damage caused by water entering the ceiling or walls. In this article, I will discuss how to inspect your RV and to perform tidy sealant updates yourself.

The Eberspaecher Breezonic rooftop climate control system for motorhomes and camper vans is said to combine state-of-the-art innovative technology, outstanding performance, and energy efficiency with powerful cooling and heating via a heat pump. | Convection-microwave oven with air fryer |
Microwave and convection ovens meet rapid air-frying technology in a new three-in-one 0.9-cubic-foot appliance from Lippert/Furrion. This magical machine makes it possible to heat up leftover pizza, broil chicken, or have French fries ready for the kids with one space-saving appliance on board. To maximize counter space, it can be paired with a trim kit for under-cabinet or island installation. It incorporates a 900-watt microwave and 1,450 watts of convection power, making it possible for the RV chef to defrost, reheat, bake, and air fry with ease. The 360-degree glass turntable ensures even heating, while the included air-fryer tray and baking plate deliver a crisp, golden finish.

Did you know that many RVs share the same key for their storage compartments? Brian from RV with Tito did, and that’s why he replaced his CH751 locks with custom-made cam locks to help secure his RV. It’s easy to tell whether you have these locks. Just look at the compartment key. If it has “CH751” stamped on it, it’s a lock commonly used on travel trailers, fifth wheels, and some Class C motorhomes. Brian suggests working with a locksmith to customize a set of replacement locks that are keyed alike.

Finding a certified RV technician |
The RV Technical Institute has launched a new online Find a Certified Technician map to help RV owners locate qualified service providers. The new platform pinpoints facilities in the United States and Canada that have RVTI-certified service technicians. RVTI, established by the RV Industry Association and RV Dealers Association, has become the industry’s gold standard for technician training, with nearly 7,000 certified technicians and growing.

Unexpected repairs can add up |
Many first-time and seasoned buyers believe that the factory warranty will cover everything on their new RV. The reality is that a laundry list of things can — and do — go wrong with an RV that may not be covered by a factory warranty. And if you are purchasing a used RV, it often won’t have any factory warranty coverage at all.
We’ve done our research and are excited to offer FRVA members the opportunity to purchase a DriveQuest vehicle service contract.
A DriveQuest vehicle service contract not only offers exceptional mechanical coverage, but it also includes the following benefits:
|
|
|
- 24/7 emergency roadside assistance
- Concierge services
- RV technical support
- Substitute transportation reimbursement
- Trip interruption reimbursement
- Mobile mechanic service calls
- Towing and winch-out service
- Road hazard tire protection
|
| |
|
…and these are all available on day one of the contract!
Don’t wait to help protect your RV from the unexpected. If your RV is 20 years old or newer, click here to start the process of getting a quote or call (877) 404-0135 to speak with a DriveQuest representative.
