Fall is always beautiful on campus, but the fall colors seem particularly vibrant this year. Poet Robert Frost could've easily been talking about fall when he wrote that Miami is "the most beautiful campus that ever there was."
The changing colors are also a reminder of how quickly we are approaching the end of the fall semester. Remind your student to strike a good balance between school work and enjoying the second half of the semester with their community.

Live on Campus Next Year! |
Rising juniors and seniors (current second-year students and beyond) are now able to select their rooms for the 2023-24 academic year if they choose to live on campus. We have rooms available in Heritage Commons, Bishop, Withrow, Maplestreet, and more!
Room selection for rising second-year students will begin in April. Second-year students, with limited exceptions, are required to live on campus.

International Education Week, November 11-18 |
Miami University observes International Education Week (IEW) each November with a wide range of special activities. It is a great opportunity for your student to enjoy some fun before they head home for Thanksgiving break.
For instance, on November 15, your students are invited to attend the Faculty Led Study Abroad and Away Showcase, where they can learn about short- and long-term opportunities.

iPOL Leadership Opportunity |
International Peer Orientation Leaders (iPOLs) are undergraduate or graduate students who assist ISSS with welcoming new international students to Miami University. iPOLs play an integral role in shaping a positive orientation experience for new international students and preparing them to achieve success at Miami.
As an iPOL, your student will receive hourly compensation and professional leadership development. They can visit the iPOL website to learn more and apply!

Presidential Career and Leadership Series: Into the Queen City
Have your student join us for a multi-day, immersive experience to network with numerous alumni and employers in Cincinnati this January. Students will experience cultural events and learn about recruiting trends across various industries to better plan for career opportunities.

Career Courses
EDL career courses will prepare your student for their career journey, whether it takes them into the work world or to graduate school. The Career Center offers two courses. EDL 100 is built for students who are unsure about their current major and would like to explore interests and career options. EDL 302 is a professional preparation class that focuses on how to search for internship and job opportunities and how to apply for graduate school. Visit the career courses website to learn more.

The ceremony on Friday, December 9 at 3 p.m. at Millett Assembly Hall is for all graduates and their families.
Students should arrive no later than 2:15 p.m. with their cap and gown. Tables will be set up on the concourse and staffed by faculty marshals for each college. Students should pick up their reader card and look for the location where their college will be lining up. There will be plenty of faculty marshals around to answer questions.
Students will be seated in the arena by college. All candidates for graduation will have their name called, will cross the stage, and will have their photo taken by photographers from GradImages.

Early Reminder for Textbook Buyback and Rental Returns |
Don't forget to remind your students it's almost time to return their textbook rentals and sell their books. Mark your calendar for December 5-9 for onsite buybacks at Brick & Ivy.

Shuttles to the Cincinnati (CVG) Airport are available on Tuesday, November 22, and Wednesday, November 23, with multiple returns to campus on Sunday, November 27. Your student can ride on a professional luxury coach to/from the airport for only $40 each way!
Shuttles will also be available for winter and spring breaks.

Planning for your student's return to campus for spring semester? |
The residence halls officially open on Sunday, January 22, at 9 a.m. Without a specific need to be on campus, students are not permitted to return to campus prior to Saturday, January 21, 2023. A request must be submitted in order to return on this day and students will be billed their daily cohort rate for early arrival. Sign up will be available in the housing portal in late December.
Students who have travel reasons to arrive early before spring semester hall openings should make arrangements to stay off campus with a friend or make hotel reservations. Students who access their room without approval will be billed the rate of $55/day.
