Fun New Magic Dragon Day Food Option
NEW this year! As a fun addition to our concession offerings, you can purchase Chick-fil-A sandwiches or combo meals, and a portion of the proceeds will be given back to St. Michael's. SMPA fundraisers enable them to host fantastic events for the entire St M community throughout the year.
Chick-fil-A ordering closes on Monday, April 29. No walk-up orders will be accepted on Magic Dragon Day.

2024-25 Dress Code Update
Thank you to all who shared their dress code feedback at the end of 2023.
As you can expect, the responses contained a wide variety of opinions and ideas. Our school's dress code is designed to foster a safe, respectful, and focused atmosphere for all students. We believe that appropriate attire contributes to a positive learning environment and helps prepare students for success both academically and socially.
After much internal discussion, St. Michael’s will continue with our current dress code guidelines for the 2024-25 school year with greater attention given to adherence and enforcement.
We ask families to partner with us in reviewing the dress code with their children and assisting students with making appropriate choices about their school attire before they come to school. Thank you!

5th Grade Fire SafetyOn May 7, the Chesterfield County Fire Department will be coming to St M to work with our 5th grade students on fire safety education. The S.A.F.E. (Safety and Fire Education) program is an action-based learning program in which students rotate through developmentally-appropriate learning stations.
Highlights of their program will include: fire escape planning, smoke alarm awareness, emergency preparedness, and the consequences of the misuse of fire. In addition to rotating through stations in the gym, students will practice escaping a home during a fire emergency.

Extended Day Digital Check-Out Pilot Program For Gr 4-5
St. Michael's is dedicated to enhancing safety and security on campus, and we are excited to introduce an improved checkout process for our Extended Day program. Starting April 17, 2024, we will be piloting a digital checkout system in our 4th and 5th grade cohort.
Instead of the traditional method of writing down the pickup time, 4-5 parents or guardians will now be required to input their child's name on a laptop in the Extended Day room. This will ensure a more efficient and accurate checkout process. Additionally, the system will also record the name of the adult checking the child out.
Middle School has already started the digital checkout process, which will continue throughout the remainder of the year. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we strive to provide the best service for your family.

Parents' Night Out: Beach Palooza!
Join us for our final Parents Night Out of the school year on Friday, May 10, 6-9 p.m., for grades PK-5.
Make colorful sand slime, play beach-themed games for prizes, paint seashells and more! Pizza and fruit will be provided. Please bring a water bottle.
$55 for the first child, $16 for each additional child. Register below.

ALL NEW Zooventures at St M!
Get ready for an unforgettable experience this summer at St. Michael's with our new and exciting camp programming in partnership with the METRO RICHMOND ZOO! Your child will have the opportunity to learn about, see, and engage with live animals including mammals, birds, and reptiles!
Every Thursday starting from July 11 to August 1, an experienced zoo keeper will guide your child through an educational and interactive session with the animals at St M.
- If your child is already signed up for Afternoon Adventures Camp that week, they are automatically enrolled in the Thursday programming at no extra cost.
- If your child is not signed up for the week, there is still time to register OR
- COME JUST FOR THE DAY! Simply drop-in for the Thursday programming. What a fun playdate idea with friends! The drop-in fee is just $45.00 and your child will be able to participate in the entire Afternoon Adventures program from 12-5 p.m
