How to Engage in Service Learning & Volunteerism

Join TOCSL for our first Milk & Cookies event of the Fall semester to discover service learning and volunteering opportunities across campus and the local community. We'll have representatives from Leadership and Community Service-Learning (LCSL) Office to share information about programs, application processes and deadlines. A panel of students who have participated in these programs will also be on hand to share their experiences. We hope to see you there!
 How to Find an On-Campus Job
When: September 10th, 2019 from 5 pm-6 pm 
Where: Grand Ballroom Lounge
In this session, you will get a chance to meet with employers and other students from Rec Well, Stamp Student Union, Department of Transportation Services, Office of Resident Life and the Orientation Office. If you are looking to work on-campus this is a great opportunity to connect and learn more about job opportunities and application processes!

Did you miss the Muffin Man??? The first GMC of the 2019-2020 academic year will be on September 4th from 7:30 -10:30 am in STAMP's Atrium. Start your Wednesday right and join us for bagels, muffins, coffee and fruit juices! We are currently seeking performers for Quelcome 2019. Performers can present their poetry, spoken word, original or covered music! All are welcome to perform. Come share your talent with us. The form to participate can be found at go.umd.edu/q19. Performances are accepted on a rolling-basis and time slots are limited, so we encourage applicants to submit sooner rather than later.

America Reads, America Counts
America Reads*America Counts*Partners in Print is a mentoring/tutoring program where more than 200 UMD students work weekly to improve the literacy and math skills of Prince George’s County elementary school students. This program is a great way to meet new friends on campus, develop essential leadership skills, and gain valuable resume-building experience!
Recruitment for the program is open and students can volunteer, receive academic or internship credit, or, if eligible for Federal Work Study, can be paid to work with our program!
