Alumni Awards Nominations Open
|
Don't miss the deadline to nominate remarkable A&M-San Antonio alumni for their achievements and community impact. The on-campus awards ceremony will take place during Homecoming Week on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2026.
The 2026 Alumni Awards have three categories.
- The Recent Graduate award is given to an alumnus/a who has earned an undergraduate degree in the last five years and is doing exciting things in the world.
-
The Spirit of the Jaguar award is given to an alumnus/a providing excellent service and volunteerism to the University and/or community.
- The Distinguished Alumni award is given to an alumnus/a with a stellar professional career.
Deadline to nominate is Dec. 31.

The General's Store Holiday Hours |
The General’s Store, A&M-San Antonio's emergency food pantry, will be open for regular hours through the week of December 19 and by appointment only December 22-23.
The General's Store will close on December 24 and resume regular hours on January 5.
To make an appointment, email food.pantry@tamusa.edu, or call 210-784-1356, with at least a two-hour notice.

West Side of Cypress Corner Intersection Closed Until December 31 |
Due to construction on the Public Health and Education Building, the intersection on the south side of the Central Academic Building leading to Lot 2C will be closed to thru traffic until December 31.
The crosswalks will remain open, and deliveries will still be able to access the loading dock.

Commencement Profile: Kinesiology Graduate Prepares for a Future Helping Children Heal
|
Erik Arias has always been driven to help others. And when he graduates on December 16 with a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology, he will be well on his way to achieving this goal. In addition to earning a spot on the President’s List and Dean’s List, Arias is a member of the Omega Delta Phi fraternity and the Kinesiology Club. He now has his sights set on becoming a pediatric physical therapist.

| Dr. Jorge Villegas Named Dean of the College of Business at Texas A&M University–San Antonio
|
Texas A&M University–San Antonio announced that Dr. Jorge Villegas will join the University as Dean of the College of Business on Jan. 13, 2026, bringing more than a decade of leadership experience. As dean, he will oversee A&M–San Antonio’s business programs and advance the college’s commitment to experiential learning, academic excellence, and community engagement.
