Celebrate National Travel & Tourism Week

The travel and tourism industry supports the livelihoods of more than 15 million Americans, including more than 105,000 Oregonians. Help us celebrate the Faces of Travel during National Travel and Tourism Week (May 7-13). Shine a spotlight on your community's travel industry by sharing their stories with local media, elected officials, and on social media using the hashtags #nttw17 and #FacesofTravel. Check out the National Travel and Tourism Week Toolkit for ways to spread the word in your community and to harness the power of travel for your business or destination. Thanks to you, the travel and tourism industry makes a powerful difference for Oregon!

Time is Running Out

There are limited spots remaining to attend the 2017 Oregon Governor's Conference on Tourism, May 10-12, at the Salem Convention Center. Don't miss your chance to experience three days of networking with more than 450 attendees, exhibitors, sponsors, and industry experts. View the agenda and register online by May 3. We look forward to seeing you in Salem.

Destination Capitol Hill

Travel Oregon, along with Oregon Tourism Commissioners and industry partners from the Oregon Caves National Monument, the Port of Portland, Central Oregon Visitors Association, Travel Portland, and Travel Lane County, met with Oregon’s federal policy makers during U.S. Travel Association's annual Destination Capitol Hill. The delegation met with all seven members of the state’s federal legislative branch and discussed key issues for national travel including: increasing the Passenger Facility Charge, supporting the Visa Waiver Program and ensuring that travel and tourism officials have a place at the table when crises occur that may affect the tourism industry.

Oregon Wine Month

Now is the time to spread the word that May is Oregon Wine Month. If you’re a hotel, restaurant or tourism related business in wine country, or you feature Oregon wine, take advantage of this free marketing opportunity. The Oregon Wine Board has compiled a toolkit where you can download and print marketing materials and submit your wine-related tastings, receptions, special events and more. You can also support Oregon Wine Month throughout May on your social channels using the hashtags #oregonwinemonth and #oregonwine.
