Thanks~ for~ Giving…
By Phyllis Schmitt, Business Administrator
Gertrude Stein wrote “Silent gratitude isn’t very much use to anyone.”
As the Thanksgiving holiday approaches I want to take the opportunity to express my gratitude to each and every one of you for your support of Fellowship staff and the Fellowship community over the past year.
There are varied ways in which you have shown support for the Fellowship; maybe you have offered your time and talents to help around the Fellowship by leading a group, helping with hospitality, building and/or grounds maintenance, childcare, serving on the governing board or other leadership committees, providing pastoral care, assisting with worship services, or providing financial support. For all these things and more, thank you!
As we approach the end of the calendar year please contact me, phyllis@fvuuf.org, if you need information on your current pledge status or to explore different options for your financial support. Contact Marie Luna, marie@fvuuf.org, Director of Congregational Life to learn more about sharing your time and talent with the Fellowship community.
With Gratitude,
Phyllis Schmitt, Business Administrator

Conscience and Connections
with Rev. Christina Leone-Tracy and our Unitarian Pilgrims

One of the greatest acts of conscience in the history of Unitarianism was Transylvanian Francis David's refusal to obey the government's request to keep his faith static. He insisted on following his conscience and evolving his faith, and ended up a martyr because of it! Join Fellowship members to hear about their very recent pilgrimage to Deva, Romania, the site of David's martyrdom 450 years ago, and their reconnection with our partner church in Deva.

The Latke Who Couldn't Stop Screaming
by Rev. Christina Leone-Tracy
Thanksgiving has passed, and now we plunge headlong into the "holiday season." As the Latke in our story learns, Christmas is everywhere! This Sunday's all ages service will help us think about how to learn from ALL the winter holidays and how to practice our UU values throughout the coming month!
Upcoming Programs
Mitten Wreath
The Shared Sanctuary Ministry JAM and Essentials: Food and Shelter for All JAM are partnering with Unidos por un Futuru Mejor, a local immigrants rights and education group, to provide gifts to our friends and neighbors who are unable to work with mainstream agencies who distribute wish lists for families during the holiday season due to their rules for documentation. The Mitten Wreath will be set up starting this Saturday, for Justice Saturday. Each mitten has a wish for a child of a local family. Please take one or more mittens of a gift you’d like to fulfill and return the wrapped gift(s) with the mitten attached no later than December 9th to the Fellowship. Contact Marie Luna, director of congregational life, at marie@fvuuf.org with questions.
Mental Health & Overdose Prevention
Potential JAM interest meetings
Concerned about the intersection of mental health and addiction? A new Justice Action Ministry is hoping to form at the Fellowship to inform ourselves as to current best practices and how to build a supportive recovery community in the Fox Valley.
Life Coach and Trainer Jesse Heffernan and Cathy Thompson, Outagamie County Board Supervisor and O.C. HHS Committee member, have teamed up to work with our fellow UU's who find they have a passion to be a part of making life better for people struggling locally.
Join us for an information and interest session on Sunday, November 18 following each service in the Fellowship Hall. Join us to talk about how we might help to save lives, restore families through education, advocacy and strengthening our community one relationship at a time.
Contact Cathy Thompson with questions at 920.319.4388.

Childcare will be available; No sign up required
Laureen Anderson-Stepanek, an immigration lawyer, will present on allyship and substantive steps we can take in the work of supporting immigrant rights vs. the "feel good" response. We will also hear from the leadership of Unidos Por Un Futuro Mejor, a local immigrant rights and education group. The Fox Cities SURJ Rapid Response team will present on meaningful ways we as bystanders can respond to emergency situations and disrupt detainments. The Fellowship Shared Sanctuary Committee will provide education on the sanctuary movement and ways to be involved in this effort at the Fellowship.
Laureen Anderson-Stepanek has spent her whole legal career as an immigration lawyer concentrated her practice in complex immigration matters since 2002. As Ms. Anderson-Stepanek's practice has grown she has expanded into the areas of family and removal defense, specifically those related to criminal issues and appellate matters, including to the federal court.

UU University
December 5, 6:30 pm  UU HISTORY: YOUNG FAITH This is the second of two sessions on UU history. We will focus on the ways in which our faith, while in some ways ancient, is also very new, since the consolidation in 1961 between the Unitarians and the Universalists created something new and unique. Come explore the ways in which the echoes of our ancient faith inform (for good and bad) our young faith. We will cover the Consolidation, the Fellowship Movement, the Black Empowerment Tragedy, and more. Come, learn more about our incredible tradition!

Ministry Minute with Rev. Christina Leone-Tracy
Did you miss last week's Ministry Minute
Rev. Christina was joined by director of congregational life, Marie Luna, who shares how you can get involved at the Fellowship without feeling overwhelmed by the amount of activities we have going on. Check out previous videos on our youtube channel
Technology News                                                       The Fellowship’s wireless network has just been upgraded! In order to provided added security for the Fellowship’s network and improve efficiency, we have installed a new wireless access system.
The next time you access the Wi-Fi at the Fellowship you will be prompted to enter a password, however, the password that you formerly used to login will no longer work. To make the Wi-Fi more accessible for you when staff is not here the new password, which should be much easier to remember, will now be displayed on the lobby screen at the bottom of each daily slide. There will also be a supply of printed slips with the network name and password located on the welcome table in the front lobby for the time being, and of course staff can provide you password information if neither of the other two sources are available to you.
Thanksgiving Open Chair
Will you have an open chair at your table on Thanksgiving that could be filled by a Fellowship member or friend who would otherwise spend the day alone? Or Are you without plans for the holiday? Please let Marie Luna, director of congregational life, know if you fall into either of these categories.

MidAmerica Chalice Lighter Program
The Fellowship is part of the MidAmerica Region through the UUA, and they do important work supporting many congregations, including ours. One of the ways they do this is through the Chalice Lighter Program: We help our congregations do bigger and better things by serving as the conduit for individual giving to dynamic congregational programs. From augmenting staff to retrofitting buildings for accessibility, to provide outreach to those in your community, to whatever else will help you be more effective, welcoming, and strong, the Chalice Lighter program gives away more than $30,000 every year directly to our congregations. Become a Chalice Lighter today by donating $20 to the Fall Call HERE.
