Social Justice Law Clinic Features Two New Programs

The Loyola Social Justice Law Clinic opened this semester, featuring two new programs to help additional clients: The Street Law Teaching Practicum advises women restarting their lives after abusive relationships, and the Workers’ Rights Clinic helps immigrant workers preyed upon by employers. READ MORE

LMU strives to change the lack of diversity in STEM fields through its annual K-12 Engineering Day event, “#ILookLikeAnEngineer.” The student-led event’s third anniversary was hosted by LMU’s National Society of Black Engineers, Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, Society of Women Engineers, and Engineering for Humanity. READ MORE

Symbols of LMU Invigorate Commencement Mass

Commencement Mass opens commencement weekend by bringing together symbols of deep meaning to the LMU community: we sing the “LMU Centennial Hymn;” place brightly colored cloths on the altar from many locales, including service trips, to signify the reach of LMU; and a specially chosen Scripture passage is read. Three Lions Teams Reach Championship Games

The Lions men’s and women’s tennis teams, and the women’s water polo team all reached their conference finals. Unfortunately, even though the three teams played well, none could bring home the championship. Meanwhile, the women’s rowing team is heading to the WCC championships on May 12. READ MORE
