Josh is obsessed with the swirly multicolored glass he first devised 40 years ago, which he named Corona. In his quest to explore every possible way to work with this unpredictable material, he has lately dedicated two of his four furnaces to melting various versions of the substance. One result? This new collection of unique bowls containing a layer of Corona glass within a shell of either blue New Mexico, black, or Corona glass, sculpted while still molten on the pipe. Reminiscent of Corona Tektites but without the gnarly exterior, these vessels are as smooth as mother-of-pearl, inside and out.
After all, Josh is an eccentric and these bowls fit his personality perfectly!
This month's Infinity Planet recipientis Stephanie L. from Redwood City, California. Stepanie does cave-diving in the Riviera Maya region of the Yucatan, Mexico, as part of a scientific endeavor to measure and understand the flow of water through the thousands of interconnected flooded caves that make up the region's fresh water supply. These caves, which lie only a few feet below the surface yet are rarely seen, contain pottery shards and other scattered relics of the past: the perfect spot for a mysterious Simpson planet!
