ARL’s AI-Enabled Analysis Pipeline Supports Sensemaking at Scale

When the US Office of Management and Budget (OMB) proposed revisions to the Uniform Guidance, individuals and organizations from across sectors responded with a flood of comments. Most were opposed. Analysts generated early insights about public reactions to this sweeping proposal by pointing LLMs at the comments as they were made available by OMB. Focusing specifically on themes of interest to research libraries, ARL Daily Intelligence curator Gary Price and outgoing ARL/CNI AI Researcher in Residence Natalie Meyers developed and refined a similar analysis pipeline.
