Join the CMU Swartz Center for Entrepreneurship on Tuesday, March 23 for its virtual McGinnis Venture Competition final round celebration. Come watch and cheer on the graduate and undergraduate final round teams as they make their final pitches for the chance to win $60K in investments. 
Advanced registration is required. Zoom information will be sent to all registered attendees the day before the event.

Nimble Robotics Raises $50M to Build the Future of On-Demand Robotic Fulfillment
Nimble Robotics, a robotics and ecommerce fulfillment technology company founded by CMU alumnus and Swartz Fellow Simon Kalouche, has announced a $50M Series A financing led by DNS Capital and GSR Ventures with participation from Accel and Reinvent Capital among others. The capital raised will further accelerate the company’s hiring plans, product and technology development and scaling of robot deployments for its customers’ fulfillment operations. Read more.

Venture Bridge: Building Bridges to Silicon Valley
and Beyond
The CMU Swartz Center's VentureBridge program, directed by Namrata Banerjee, gives alumni founders the tools they need to go from seed stage to successful startup. The free program provides startups with $25K in funding, access to unparalleled mentors and renowned industry experts, weekly roundtables to troubleshoot challenges with fellow founders, targeted one-on-one advice and co-working and incubation spaces in San Francisco’s Financial District and on CMU's Silicon Valley campus. Carnegie Mellon University Startups To Compete at Rice Business Plan Competition
Three CMU startups, along with 51 other teams, will be competing in the Rice Business Plan Competition virtually on April 6-9, 2021. The teams are:

Aspire360 - Eleanor Haglund, founder and CEO
• MindTrace (2021 McGinnis Venture Competition finalist) - Team: Raouf Belkhir, Max Sims, Hugo Angulo and Bradford Mahon
SimpL - Kunal Gandhi, founder and CEO

Fireside Chat with Allegheny Health Network (AHN)

The CMU Swartz Center is honored to host Jeffrey K. Cohen, MD, Chief Physician Executive, Community Health and Innovation at Allegheny Health Network (AHN), for an intimate fireside chat. Dr. Cohen is helping to lead a number of accelerator initiatives in Pittsburgh, including AHN's recent partnership with Innovation Works to form AlphaLab Health. In addition to this exciting new cohort, Dr. Cohen and AHN are repurposing the old Suburban General Hospital (SGH) and will have 180,000 square feet of available space, providing substantial benefits to the startup community.

Joining Dr. Cohen will be Will Kaigler, Swartz Center EIR, assistant teaching professor and CEO and co-founder of sovaSage, Inc., and the discussion will be moderated by Craig Markovitz, assistant teaching professor and Swartz Center EIR. 
VentureBridge Mentor Matching Event

The CMU Swartz Center's VentureBridge program is hosting its Spring Startup Pitch and Mentor Matching Mixer on Thursday, March 18, 2021.
 
Finding the right mentors and advisors can make a significant difference to an entrepreneur. The VentureBridge program helps to facilitate these connections through organized matching events. Entrepreneurs are given two minutes to pitch and present their startup to a group of alumni mentors. After the presentations, mentors and entrepreneurs have time to interact and participate in a mutual, matching process.

2021-2023 Undergraduate Innovation Scholars Program

The CMU Swartz Center has opened applications for its 2021-2023 cohort of Undergraduate Innovation Scholars. Undergraduate students from across CMU may apply beginning March 5, 2021 through April 2, 2021. This two-year program fosters innovation and entrepreneurship, provides mentoring opportunities and seeks to increase the number of successful startup companies initiated by or involving CMU's undergraduate students. The two-year program includes academic coursework, work experience at a startup, networking and mentorship--given and received.
