Galatians 6:9-10
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.
New International Version (NIV)
With our mechanization of food production, we may have lost touch with the planting-harvesting cycle.  Farmers plant and water and wait for a harvest.  Meanwhile we drive through a fast food lane and food instantly appears.  We didn’t plant, we didn’t water and we don’t wait.
Like the Psalmist, Paul knew what it was to work hard planting seeds of the gospel (Psalm 126:6).  At times it was exhausting.  He must have collapsed on his bed some nights and fallen to sleep immediately.  In his struggle to straighten out the Galatians, he reminded them that we keep doing good and never give up because we know we will reap a harvest.
What are you tempted to quit doing for the Lord?  Is there any area in which you see no results from your hard work?  Paul says, “Keep going.  Don’t quit.”  In this strength, he invites the Galatians to join him in doing good to all people.  Don’t miss his final thought:  we especially help those who belong to the family of believers.  We do not just go to our families, we belong to them.  So, also with our churches, we are not consumers but members.  The church is not an organization we go to, but an organism we belong to.  In the church we act kindly and do good to others.
Pray with me:
Father, we pray today for all who are discouraged and disheartened by the lack of fruit from their labors.  Help us to plant seeds and to wait in hope for you to bring them to life.  Help us to do all the good we can for everyone we can help today.  In Jesus’ name.  Amen.
I want to invite you to join me in memorizing 52 passages this year from the 2017 set of Fighter Verses.  You can find the Fighter Verses App at the App Store on your phones or via this link  http://fighterverses.com/the-verses/fighter-verses/As we study the Bible this year, let's look at each text and learn what it says about God.
