Submissions Start Soon!

2023 Annual Innovative Teaching & Learning Conference


From November 7th through December 16th, TLI will begin inviting proposals for its fourth annual Innovative Teaching and Learning Conference, which will be held virtually on Thursday, March 23, 2023. 

Proposals may focus on innovative aspects of different teaching modalities (online, blended, face-to-face), pedagogy (team-based learning, engaged scholarship, culturally relevant, etc.), and/or practice (collaborative, active, peer-led, etc.) in the higher education context.

Faculty, Graduate Student Instructors, and Post-Doc Student Instructors are all encouraged to submit their proposals via our conference webpage.

All questions related to the conference can be submitted via email to tli@utk.edu.

Welcome, New TLI Team Members! 

TLI is excited to announce and welcome two new team members to their group of dedicated staff.
Serving as TLI's Marketing and Communications Specialist, Gwyneth Doppelt serves as the creator for all of the unit's digital marketing materials, leader for developing the unit's communications strategy, and also provides marketing support to the TLI team. 
Dr. Susan Groenke is serving as Faculty Leader for Inclusive Teaching for the 2022-23 academic year. In this role, she will support the campus community by working with individual instructors, departments, and colleges to develop effective approaches to fostering inclusive learning for all students. She will also lead our Inclusive Teaching Advisory Network.

Coffee Break With the Colleges


TLI has started a new opportunity this semester called "Coffee Break with the Colleges". For this event, members of TLI will be available in a select college each month to work with individual faculty members, graduate student instructors, and others.
Our next event is with Tickle College of Engineering, Thursday, November 10th 12:00-1:30 on the 4th floor atrium of the new Zeanah Engineering Complex.
The first 20 attendees at each event will receive a FREE "TLI Appreciates Faculty" travel tumbler.

Don't Miss OLAP's Online Learning Showcase 


All week long, OLAP has been celebrating the success of online teaching and learning on UT's campus through a variety of special events. The last event in the Online Learning Week program is the Online Learning Showcase. Multiple stations will be set up, and participants will rotate from table to table and see demonstrations from faculty about their implementation. 
Interested faculty can attend the showcase on Thursday, Oct. 27th 11:00-1:30 at Student Union 362, rooms B and C.
