The rivalry, the competition, the passion—this year’s Mayor’s Cup Challenge had it all! We are delighted to report that thanks to YOUR efforts, Walsh University has been named the winner of the 2025 Mayor’s Cup Challenge, surpassing its goal of $65,000 to raise more than $76,000 at the time of the challenge cutoff and reaching $83,500 as of today. The fundraising efforts culminated last night during the Walsh vs. Malone men’s and women’s basketball games held at Malone University. Collectively, Walsh University and Malone University raised over $145,000 in support of each school’s athletic programs. | Read More

RSVP for the Business Club Luncheon Featuring President of the Cleveland Cavaliers |
Walsh University is excited to host one of the most anticipated events of the year, the 54th Business Club Scholarship Luncheon, presented by the DeVille School of Business. As the largest and longest-running student club event at the University, this luncheon brings together business leaders, students, and community members for an afternoon of networking and inspiration. This year’s featured keynote speaker is Bill Fagan, President of Business Operations for the Cleveland Cavaliers and Rock Entertainment Group, who will share insights on leadership, business strategy, and industry trends. The event will take place on Wednesday, March 26, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Barrette Business and Community Center. Proceeds from the luncheon directly support student scholarships, helping future business leaders achieve their academic and professional goals. Two-time Olympian Carlin Isles will headline this year’s Soul Food Sunday, sharing his inspiring journey as part of Walsh University’s Black History Month celebration. Hosted by the Black Student Union and the Office for Culture & Belonging, this annual event highlights Black excellence, culture, and talent through soulful cuisine, live performances, and engaging discussions that honor the diverse contributions of the African American diaspora. Winter Concert, February 21 |
The Walsh University Chorale, Chamber Singers, and Handbell Choir will hold their annual Winter concert on Friday, Feb. 21 at 7:30pm. The concert, featuring a wide variety of sacred music, will be held at Little Flower Catholic Parish on Diamond St. in Canton. All are welcome and encouraged to attend this free concert.

Concert Band & World Music Ensemble Concert, February 23 |
Experience an afternoon of captivating music at the Concert Band and World Music Ensemble Concert on Sunday, Feb. 23, at 2:30 p.m. in the Birk Center for the Arts. Under the direction of Thomas Roblee, the Concert Band will perform powerful selections, including Call of the Wild and The Bonsai Tree, along with timeless folk and film favorites. The World Music Ensemble will bring global rhythms to life with traditional marimba and drumming pieces. All are welcome to attend this free community concert.

WU’s Got Talent is back and better than ever! Join us for an exciting evening highlighting the incredible talent within the Walsh community. The competition will feature first, second, and third-place winners, along with a Cavalier Fan Favorite. Even if you are not competing, come out and enjoy the show, cheer on your fellow Cavaliers, and enjoy free concessions from Nom Nom Popcorn. The event takes place on Saturday, Feb. 22, at 7 p.m. in the Barrette Business and Community Center Conference Rooms.

On Feb. 7, Dr. Amy J. Heston served as a guest speaker for the Faculty Center at Lewis University (Romeoville, IL). Her project, "Pedagogical Inspiration and Innovation Through Quality Matters", was presented to administrators, program directors, faculty, and instructional designers striving to increase quality assurance across campus. Lewis is a Catholic university with a Lasallian tradition.
