COVID-19 Relief Package and Resources

On Dec. 27, 2020, the federal Economic Aid to Hard-Hit Small Businesses, Nonprofits, and Venues Act (the “act”) was signed into law. This COVID-19 relief package includes additional funding for the Paycheck Protection Program and other programs, expands the applicant pool, including 501(c)(6) organizations, adjusts rules for existing programs, and provides other resources. Oregon’s Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network Webinars

Oregon’s Small Business Development Center (SBDC) network is hosting a series of webinars that provide information on the federal COVID-19 relief package as well as restaurant specific programs. More information on these webinar opportunities can be found below: 
Pandemic Finance 101 Webinar 
The recently passed COVID-19 relief package includes new available funding as well as adjustments to existing programs. The new legislation will make it possible for a small business owner to get a second forgivable PPP loan with fewer restrictions, access the forgivable loan and tax burden features, and apply for special provisions to help restaurants and minority-owned businesses. It also allows 501(c)(6) organizations to access PPP loans. This webinar will provide a comprehensive guide on these new benefits and programs on Monday, Jan. 11 from 1-2 p.m. Registration is free.

Oregon Restaurant COVID-19 Assistance Program 
The Oregon Restaurant & Lodging Association (ORLA), along with Oregon’s SBDC network have recently launched a new, no-cost, one-on-one confidential advisor network that includes seven professional restaurant consultants ready to assist industry operators with ongoing challenges posed by the pandemic. This program is paid through SBA CARES Act relief funds authorized by the Emergency Board of the Oregon Legislature. Visit SBDC’s website to sign up for an advisor and learn more.

Restaurant Success Toolbox Series: Promoting Your Restaurant During the Pandemic 
This is the first webinar in the five-part Restaurant Success Toolbox Series to bring awareness regarding restaurant challenges, issues and resources. This first webinar focuses on marketing and connecting to clients digitally -- SEO, social media, tool stacking and content development will all be part of this dynamic webinar. The webinar is on Monday, Jan. 11 from 3-4 p.m. Registration is free. 

USDA Seeks Applications for Grants to Support Rural Community Development Projects

Today, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced it's seeking grant applications for projects to improve housing, community facilities, and community and economic development in rural areas. Grants will be established through USDA’s Rural Community Development Initiative (RCDI) program and awarded to organizations that will use the funding to provide support to projects that will benefit rural communities. Eligible recipients include public entities, nonprofits and qualified private (for-profit) organizations. More information is available on today's Federal Register.
