Joseph Pope Jr. and Charles Segars III received the Citizen Award from CUPD last week for their selfless and heroic actions in saving the lives of two fellow students last September. It was the second public recognition for Pope and Segars, who were honored in November by Clemson City Police with Life-Saving Awards during a City Council meeting.

Organized by Rhondda Robinson Thomas, the Calhoun Lemon Professor of Literature, the run is scheduled for Sunday, February 18, from 8-10 a.m. Runners will gather in the Carillon Garden before running a route that guides them past sites of significance for Black history at Clemson.

The Office of Human Resources will offer live trainings to both employees and supervisors ahead of the Group 3 performance evaluation deadline of February 28. Training sessions will be held on Zoom. Interested individuals in Group 3 budget centers may register for individual sessions through Tiger Training.

Any member of Clemson University may nominate a person to be an honorary alumnus/a. Applicants will be judged based on an individual’s outstanding service to Clemson and/or the Alumni Association and lifelong devotion to the University.

Developed at Duke University, Koru is an evidence-based program designed to teach mindfulness and meditation to manage stress and reduce anxiety. The workshop will teach specific skills to help calm and focus individuals’ minds, including breathing exercises, guided imagery, body scans and more.

PEBA’s Wondr Health Program will teach you to eat your favorite foods and stay healthy. The program also teaches participants how to lose weight while helping reduce the risk for chronic diseases like diabetes and heart disease. Wondr Health is available to State Health Plan members age 18 and older.
