Tri-County 4-H Summer Camp
While the weather outside may be frightful, it is a good time to start thinking about summer! Summer brings the return of in-person Summer 4-H Camp. We will be camping at Camp Lakota in Wautoma on June 14-17 with 4-Hers from Columbia, Sauk, and Dodge Counties. Registration for 4-H Summer Camp for grades 3-6 IS OPEN! If we have 20+ campers bussing will be provided.

Do you sing, dance, play an instrument, tell stories or act? Consider showcasing your talents at the Sauk County Performance Arts Festival, April 1st. All solo, partner and group performances are encouraged to participate! All participants will be judged and receive feedback and ribbon placement on their performance. Register before 4:30 on March 20th.

YQCA- Youth for the Quality Care of Animals, is an educational program required for all youth exhibitors who will keep animals on the Sauk County & State Fair fairgrounds during the fair to include, dairy, beef, swine, sheep, goat, horse, poultry, rabbit, and exotics. Dog and Cat do not have this requirement
This year, certificates need to be uploaded during fair registration in April.

The WI 4-H Foundation provides a sum of money to the State 4-H Office for needs-based scholarships for youth to participate in statewide Educational Experiences including, Space Academy, Animal Science Programming (AASD, Quiz Bowl, Skillathon, Judging Contests), Arts Camp, or ArtBEAT!,Citizenship Washington Focus (CWF), Fall Forum, National 4-H Congress, National 4-H Conference, Space Camp, State Arts Team (Drama Company or Arts), and Summer Academy.

Summer Academy Scholarships Available! |

Our Senior Leaders Association voted to provide NINE additional scholarships for youth 7th-10th grade to attend Summer Academy (flyer below, formerly WI 4-H & Youth Conference). Recipients will receive a 50% scholarship worth $175 to attend Summer Academy.

Radio Astronomy Workshop | March 11, 2023 |

There's a hidden universe out there, radiating at wavelengths and frequencies we can’t see with our eyes. Join us for a hands-on workshop with Professor Zhang, a UW Radio Astronomer, and the Director of Space Place, Jim Lattis who will introduce you to the world of radio astronomy. Youth will explore the local radio environment, the characteristics of radio energy and build their own sensor to explore the spectrum.
Date: Saturday, March 11, 2023 from 1:00-2:00pm
Location: UW Space Place, 2300 S. Park Street, Madison Cost: Free | Ages: Grades 6-13
Friends welcome! Youth do not need to be in 4-H to attend. Complete one form for each youth attending.

The Wisconsin 4-H Foundation will award more than $20,000 in scholarships to outstanding Wisconsin 4-H members and alumni pursuing higher education in 2023. To be considered for financial support, applications must be received by the Wisconsin 4-H Foundation via email by Wednesday, March 15, 2023, 5:00 pm.

Wildlife and Woods is Wisconsin 4-H’s statewide natural sciences, wildlife, and forestry virtual event! Outdoor enthusiasts get to connect with other 4-H youth of all ages from around the state.
Together, we explore the natural world with a special focus on wildlife, wildlife habitats, and forests. Participants learn about wild places across the United States following the 4-H Wildlife Habitat Education Program (WHEP) and the 4-H Forestry Program.
Materials are designed for all ages and knowledge levels, so everyone can benefit. Sessions will run from 7-8pm on the fourth Wednesdays of the month thru May.
