Gallery and Frame Awards

Congratulations to all the Gallery and Frame award winners! Their work was on display through the end of August. If you have not picked up your entry, please kindly reach out to the Gallery and Frame Shop to schedule a time to stop by and pick up your fair exhibit. Fond du Lac County Market Livestock Project

Project Records due Sept 10

In order to be eligible for next year’s sale, market livestock project members who sold a market animal at the Fond du Lac County Fair must turn in their Market Livestock Project Record Forms to the Extension Office by 4:30 pm, the Friday following Labor Day, which is September 10, 2021.

Form and examples are located at https://fyi.extension.wisc.edu/fdlmeat/forms/. Completed forms should be mailed to the address listed on the form or emailed to katie.gindt@wisc.edu.

This copy given to the Extension Office is in addition to any required forms for the 4-H club or FFA chapter requirements. Failure to complete the project record form and turn it into the Extension Office may result in loss of sale privilege for next year’s market livestock sale. Cedar Crest Ice Cream Flavor Contest

Who: All 4-H members in the State of Wisconsin
What: Develop and name an ice cream flavor
When: Entries must be submitted to Cedar Crest Ice Cream no later than November 12, 2021, via the online entry form or email.
How: Submit entries using the online form or download the entry form found here:  https://cedarcresticecream.com/2021-cedar-crest-ice-cream-4-h-flavor-contest/. Forms can be emailed to kaitlyn.mazza@cedarcresticecream.com.

 Five top finalists will be selected with one finalist chosen as the grand prize winner. The grand prize winner will receive a Cedar Crest Ice Cream Party and a $500 prize. The four additional top finalists will receive a Cedar Crest Ice Cream Party.

More information and the entry form are available at www.cedarcresticecream.com. Entries are due by November 12, 2021. The winner will be announced in December 2021.
NEW Charter Application
The NEW 2021-22 4-H Charter Application is now available on the Wisconsin 4-H Charter Application website: https://4h.extension.wisc.edu/resources/volunteer-resources/administrative/charter/.
This new version of the 4-H Charter Application has been converted into an online format making the process easier. With just a few clicks and no signatures needed, you can complete the online form in less than 15 minutes! Ask your club or group leader how you can work together to plan for the 4-H year!
Wisconsin 4-H Clubs and Groups Charter Applications are submitted online and due by November 1, 2021. If you have questions, please contact Tracy Keifenheim

New in 2021-2022

Join Lego Club

Who: Any youth signed up for the Lego Project
Where: UWO Fond du Lac Campus
When: 4th Tuesday of the month, 6:30-7:30 pm
In the 2021-2022 4-H year, we are excited to announce we will have Lego Club. A youth leader is taking initiative to plan and organize Lego Club meetings. Youth can join the Lego club or be in the Lego Project. Sign up through 4HOnline. Lego Club is looking for volunteers to help support and supervise youth in Lego Club. If you are interested in this volunteer opportunity, please reach out to Tracy. This is a very exciting opportunity for a youth leader to share his spark with others who also have this interest!

Key Award

  • This is the highest state 4-H award earned by members who have shown consistent growth in their 4-H involvement, developed and applied their leadership skills, and actively participated in their  4-H club and community.
  • Grades 11-13
  • Up to 5 recipients from Fond du Lac County

Citizenship

  • Recipients have contributed back to 4-H at several levels such as: project, club, county, district, state, or beyond. They will also have high participation, strong achievement, and various leadership and community service roles.
  • Completed at least grade 11
  • Two recipients from Fond du Lac County

Leadership

  • Recipients display outstanding work as a youth leader on the club and county level, with emphasis on leadership, teaching, and sharing knowledge.
  • Completed at least grade 9
  • Maximum of 10 recipients from Fond du Lac County

4-H Growth & Achievement

  • Recipients have shown accomplishments in 4-H overall for an extended period of time. They show a positive attitude, involvement, growth, depth in projects, and in activities on the club and county level.
  • Completed at least grade 9
  • Maximum of 10 recipients from Fond du Lac County

Community Service Awards

Service to the community is a fundamental principle of 4-H because involvement in service helps shape lifelong values. Members are eligible to receive this award. Clubs are eligible to receive this award.
  • Two members in grades 5-8
  • Two members in grades 9-13
  • One small Club
  • One large Club
