PERE's new report, co-authored with Rachel Rosner, presents stories and lessons from the Management Assistance Group's "Lab" program, a multi-year endeavor in exploring movement building, networked leadership, partnership, co-creation, and active learning to strengthen progressive movement networks and the people and organizations that comprise them.

EQUITABLE GROWTH IN
FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA
Communities of color are driving Fairfax County’s population growth, and their ability to participate and thrive is central to the county’s success. Although the county is known to be one of the wealthiest counties in the nation, data from the PolicyLink and PERE National Equity Atlas reveal wide gaps in income, employment, education, and opportunity by race and geography. This profile outlines what can be done to achieve more inclusive, equitable growth in the region.

| ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE MAP MEDIA MENTION
Last week, environmental justice maps made headlines when the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency released its online map which highlights environmentally burdened and economically distressed communities. PERE Director Manuel Pastor commented in the LA Times that although the EPA's map lacks nuances found in last year's map released by California agencies, it is still a "very sophisticated and good tool that is going to be exceptionally useful for those other states in helping them pinpoint where the problems are."

We are proud to share that PERE/CSII's very own Jacqueline Agnello Wong was recently appointed by Los Angeles County Supervisor Hilda Solis to the LA County Quality and Productivity Commission. We are excited for the impact and contributions she will make as commissioner in promoting efficiency and creativity in County government programs and activities.
