Meet Goodwin Alum Marthe Annan Kingsley '20
Marthe Annan Kingsley graduated from Goodwin in 2020 from the Master's in Organizational Leadership program. She is originally from Cote D’Ivoire, and is now a U.S. citizen. A proud Goodwin alum, she credits the school for helping her forge her path. She is the authour of two published books, both of which can be found at the Hoffman Family Library on the Goodwin campus.
Words from Marthe:
“I was taught to be respectful because it brings consideration. I was also taught to be grateful because it brings blessings. Respect and recognition are two armrests you can rely on and be sure to succeed in life." This personal quote inspired by the teaching (school of life) of my father made me aware since my childhood of the importance of not only our role and behavior in our diverse relationships with others, but mostly to preserve and keep our values.
Being a very shy person in my childhood, writing was the best way to express myself. I had a journal since primary school where I was expressing my feelings and passions either in writing or drawing.
My source of inspiration is NATURE. I love writing while contemplating nature. Sitting in a garden, in the backyard, at the beach, or even walking increases the flow of my thoughts and my consciousness about humanity including the changing of human behavior in this evolving world. Surrounded by nature, Goodwin University was a suitable environment and therefore a source of inspiration.
My writings, including articles on my blog, my books, and poetry are essentially for raising awareness and drawing people’s attention. I agree with Socrates that, I can't teach anyone anything, I can only make them think.
Check out her published books:
Inspire Someone Published in May 2020
WE ARE THE SOLUTION OF RACISM published in December 2023.
Poems known: “ America” which is an expression of gratitude of Mother America and “Goodwin University, Symphony of Diversity” which is expressing my deepest gratefulness toward the universe in which I really took my flight.
