Clinical Research Training Center (CRTC) to Kick Off 2026-2027 Career Development Seminar Series

The first seminar in this year’s Career Development Seminar series will be on August 25th from 3:30-5:00pm in the Moore Auditorium, North Building at WashU Medical campus, or via Zoom. Nancy Sweitzer, MD, PhD, ICTS Associate Director and CRTC Director, will lead a discussion on structuring research projects for success and will share thoughtful and deliberate design of clinical research projects, common pitfalls, and strategies to position yourself for impact, including presentation, publication and career development.

ICTS Announces Winter NIH Mock Study Section (MSS) |

The ICTS Research Development Program will host the Winter NIH Mock Study Section (MSS) for clinical and translational grants on Wednesday, November 18, 2026. Participants will be able to:
- Learn about the NIH process
- Make your NIH R, K or F series grant competitive
- Receive timely feedback
Letters of Intent due: September 23, 2026 (by 5pm CT)
Full proposals (if invited) due: October 14, 2026 (by 5pm CT)
Mock Study Section: November 18, 2026 (8:00am - 5:00pm CT) (Zoom virtual meeting – invitation only)

The CRTC has adopted the Translational Science Benefits Model (TSBM) which offers a framework for documenting clinical and translational outcomes and communicating the impact to broader audiences. The TSBM offers a robust toolkit as well as the ability to feature research impact, and numerous CRTC scholars and trainees have had their work featured in Case Studies and Impact Profiles.

Genomics in Medicine Seminar Series Set to Return for Fall 2026
The Genomics in Medicine seminar series offers attendees a practical background in molecular biology and genetics, an introduction to genomics technologies and research, and an understanding of the clinical application of genomics knowledge. Seminars are held virtually every Monday, starting in late August. Stay tuned for an official schedule to be announced!

Apply Now for Fall 2026 Clinical Investigation Courses!
Eligible individuals not enrolled in a WashU degree program are able to enroll in up to 9 credits of Clinical Investigation coursework as a non-degree seeking scholar. Credits earned can later be applied to the graduate certificate or Master of Science in Clinical Investigation. The application deadline for starting a fall program is August 1, 2026.

Trial Innovation Network (TIN) Calls for Applications for Training Program for Multicenter Clinical Trial Management
Funded by NCATS and provided at no cost to selected participants, the TIN Training Program is a cohort-based program designed to equip investigators and project managers with the skills necessary to lead multicenter clinical trials. Led by renowned experts and seasoned clinical trialists, the virtual program offers asynchronous modules as well as weekly online discussion-based sessions where participants will engage with content experts in the field. Applications must be submitted by July 31, 2026 to join the fall cohort.

Register Now for FDA Seminar Series - ClinicalTrials.gov: Essentials for Academic Medical Centers
The FDA will host three upcoming seminars throughout July, designed to help staff at academic medical centers meet the federal requirements for registering clinical studies and reporting results on ClinicalTrials.gov. Experts will address frequently asked questions regarding regulatory obligations and the ClinicalTrials.gov Protocol Registration and Results System (PRS), and participants will have the opportunity to submit questions for the expert panel to address during the live sessions.
