You've probably heard by now that negotiations with the YSU faculty union concluded yesterday without a resolution. The union has filed a notice to strike starting Monday, Oct. 12. We're still hopeful that we can get together and come to an agreement before then, but we want you to have as much information as possible should the faculty decide to strike.
We've set up a webpage to help answer some of your most common questions. You'll also find on the page all of the email, news releases and other communications we have issued regarding the negotiations and the faculty's strike notice. Please visit the site periodically because things can and usually do change quite frequently. Also, if you have any questions that you would like to see added, please email president@ysu.edu, and we'll get them up as soon as possible.
Let's remain optimistic. You have shown great perseverance through this difficult year and worked hard to overcome many obstacles. We are committed to ensuring that you'll be able to successfully complete this semester without disruption.
