Visit the Korean Culture Center

The Korean Cultural Center (KCC) Washington, D.C., a branch of the South Korean embassy and a hub of education and outreach in the nation’s capital, invites student groups to visit for a unique cultural field trip excursion. Starting in May, DCPS elementary and middle school classes can take advantage of complimentary transportation to and from the center in Northwest Washington, D.C. for an interactive program introducing Korea’s rich history, arts, society, ties with the U.S., and dynamic blend of traditional and popular culture. Each visit includes a presentation tailored by age group, hands-on cultural experiences, Q&A with staff, and a tour of the center’s various spaces, including art exhibitions, a digital gallery, and a recreation of a traditional Korean study. The KCC's visiting group program aims to foster greater understanding and friendship between Koreans and Americans, and reaching out to students to tell Korea's story is a key part of this effort.
Educators and administrators interested in arranging a class visit to the KCC or getting more information are welcome to contact program coordinator Adam Wojciechowicz. The KCC can accommodate groups of around 25 up to 50 students, and visits generally last 1.5 to 2 hours. Visit dates are subject to availability, but are generally scheduled on weekday mornings or afternoons. For more information about the KCC, visit them online at www.KoreaCultureDC.org
