The Easton Center Innovation Challenge is a great example of the spirit of collective effort which is essential to success, exemplifying an invaluable partnership between the Anderson school and the greater UCLA campus, our many students, faculty and alumni who are committed to innovation and advancements in healthcare and sustainability. This initiative brings together UCLA students from all disciplines and backgrounds to create new ventures that can drive a positive change in society.
Join expert judges William Hsu, Aaron Fyke, and Cassie Rauser and hear student teams present their promising innovations in sustainability. 
JUDGES
William Hsu
Co-founder & Partner, Mucker Capital
William has spent his career as both an entrepreneur as well as an executive of a Fortune 100 company.
Prior to forming Mucker Capital, William was the SVP and Chief Product Officer at AT&T Interactive where he owned P&L, Product Management, Product Marketing, and UX responsibilities for all digital advertising initiatives for greater AT&T.

Aaron Fyke
Founder and Managing Partner, 

Thin Line Capital
Aaron Fyke has spent almost thirty years as an investor, engineer, and entrepreneur, having cofounded six companies, including two unicorns, in a number of technology areas including fuel cell, ocean power, concentrating solar, and energy storage. 
He is currently Founder and Managing Partner of Thin Line Capital.  Thin Line’s oversubscribed first fund brings investment capital to bear on some of the world’s biggest problems in energy, water and food sustainability.
Cassie Rauser
Managing Director, Deloitte Life Sciences and Healthcare Practice
Dr. Cassie Rauser is the Executive Director of UCLA’s Sustainable LA Grand Challenge where she leads and coordinates efforts to transform Los Angeles into the most sustainable mega-city by 2050. In this position, Cassie uses her demonstrated ability to build relationships and forge collaborations among diverse groups inside and outside of the university to identify challenges specific to the L.A. region, and implement solutions with the goal of creating a more equitable and livable world. 
FINALISTS
SinkOrganics - Transforming trash into treasure. A food garbage composter that hides under your sink to replace the easy-to-clog and polluting garbage disposals in more than 50% of American homes.

Sol Gel Solutions - Affordable transparent insulation for integrating into energy efficient windows in commerical and residential buildings.

HelioHite - A disruptive clean technology company developing a turnkey solution to sustainability produce high-purity synthetic graphite and green hydrogen with no carbon emissions.

Atmos - Aims to unlock the full potential of carbon markets by providing the infrastructure required to rapidly scale up the supply of high-quality, verified carbon credits, bringing the end of the climate crisis closer to reality. 

Cleansing Lamp
- A small, advanced module that can collect CO2 emissions from residential dwellings, buildings, institutions, and other areas, while also producing clean energy.

We believe the strongest solutions to complex problems come from a diversity of thought, experiences and backgrounds. This initiative brings together UCLA students from all disciplines and backgrounds to collaborate on driving a positive change in society.
