Dear Class of 2023 families,
Commencement is a cherished part of the Vanderbilt experience, and we look forward to celebrating with you during this annual tradition.
This year's Commencement celebration will take place on Vanderbilt University's campus May 11-12, 2023.
Graduates Day precedes the university's Commencement ceremony by one day, and it is among the highlights of annual activities honoring graduates alongside families and friends. The Graduates Day celebration for all graduates and guests will be at
11 a.m. on Thursday, May 11. This year's Nichols-Chancellor's Medalist and Graduates Day speaker is internationally acclaimed journalist and 2021 Nobel Peace Prize winner
Maria A. Ressa.
There will be a celebration for graduates and their families on Thursday evening, with food, entertainment and ending with a fireworks display.
The main Commencement ceremony for all graduating students and guests will be at 9 a.m. Friday, May 12. This will be followed by a diploma ceremony for undergraduate students. Graduate and professional school ceremonies will also be Friday in various locations across campus.
We look forward to celebrating this momentous occassion with you and will provide more information on the
Commencement website as it becomes available.
Sincerely,
Your Vanderbilt University Commencement Team
