Through all of this, one group played a central role in ensuring the success of our work: volunteer leaders.

| | As needs of newly poor surge, emergency aid effort underway for frontline Jewish agencies
We are grateful to those who have given so generously to our emergency response efforts, and who continue to care for our most vulnerable community members. In a new article, JTA highlights how a group of Jewish philanthropic foundations and Federations have mounted an unprecedented effort to raise tens of millions for frontline Jewish service agencies to meet these new needs. Locally, Federation is working in partnership with human service organizations to ensure that the growing needs are met. Edlavitch DCJCC
Join Edlavitch DCJCC’s largest volunteer event of the year to give back at social service agencies in the metro-DC area. This year’s D25 will be celebrated throughout the week of December 20-25. Prepare and serve meals, sing carols, visit home-bound seniors, throw holiday parties, play bingo, and deliver holiday cheer to those in need.

For the last Friday of 2020, Federation partner OneTable will stream the Shabbat ritual on Instagram Live. Join OneTable's Rabbinic Intern, Aaron Leven, to reflect on a moment of closure in 2020 and new opportunities in 2021. Aaron will share a Friday night experience that brings people together through rituals, songs, and stories to create a kehilah kedosha (holy community). This event is free, but the registration deadline is Friday at 6:45 PM.
