Dear 4-H Families:
As we are encouraging families to Enroll in 4-H I thought I would share a couple of reminders:
For Members:
The 4-H program in Dodge County does have a rule about 3rd grade membership. It states: 3rd graders must enroll in the EXPLORING project and can add one additional project of choice. Exploring members enrolling in the Beef project are only eligible for the BEEF FEEDER Class at the Dodge County Junior Fair.
For Leaders: There are a few online training sessions to complete before UW Madison will let us approve your enrollment. Supporting You, Supporting Youth is a 15 minute training that needs to be done annually. Building Safe Spaces is a 20-25 minutes refresher that is done every 2 years. Training modules can be found at https://4h.extension.wisc.edu/resources/volunteer-resources/training-for-volunteers/
A background check is done every 2 years. The email comes from HireRight. It is a secure site managed outside of UW Madison. Watch for the email or check your spam or junk email.
We would like all youth and adults to get their re-enrollment in by November. After that time we will only be sending the Friday Focus to the enrolled members and leaders. If you are wondering why you are getting 2 now it is because we are in transition with new and past families in 4-H.
Congratulations to all of the Achievement winners both individuals and the clubs. Also thank you to the Dodge County Farm Bureau, Dodge County HCE and the Dodge County 4-H Leaders Association for sponsoring the awards
Have questions about all that 4-H has to offer or need more information about enrollment? Contact our office with questions at 920-386-3790 or email marie.witzel@wisc.edu.

We Want to Know How 4-H Has Helped You Thrive! |
This fall, Wisconsin 4-H will be encouraging members (ages 13-18) to complete a survey about their 4-H experience. The survey was developed by National 4-H Leaders (https://helping-youth-thrive.extension.org/) and will help Wisconsin 4-H to learn about the quality of our programs. The information will help to show how 4-H helps young people to learn new things, develop leadership skills, manage goals, set high personal standards, create positive academic attitudes, and other skills that lead to long-term success in life.
The survey will be sent to all Wisconsin 4-H members by e-mail in the first week of October. Youth who complete the survey will be entered into a raffle to win a $25 gift card!
For more information on the 4-H Thriving Model, visit 4-H Thriving Model – Wisconsin 4-H.
Please keep an eye out for messages and more information about this important survey.
