New Faces at CAC
A new school year brings many fresh faces to CAC, including multiple new full-time faculty and staff members. This month, four new teachers, one staff member and one administrator started at CAC, bringing new talent, perspective and knowledge to our school family.
At Pleasant Valley Elementary, Yahna Tucker is teaching pre-K 3. Tucker majored in English at Harding University and received her Master of Science degree in education. After adjunct teaching composition I and II at Harding, Tucker attended the University of Arkansas where she received her Master of Arts in English. Following graduate school, Tucker helped begin a Christian preschool in St. Louis, Missouri. She and her husband, Peyton, have three daughters: Mattie and Lucy, who are students at the PV campus, and Finley, who attends the PV day school.
On Mustang Mountain, Jimmy Teigen is teaching sixth grade English and Bible. Teigen spent the last 15 years working in ministry in Minnesota, Missouri and Illinois. He received a bachelor’s degree in English from Harding University and a master’s degree in Christian ministry from Harding School of Theology. He and his wife Amber have two children, Corrina and Finley, who started school at the PV campus last week.

Q&A with CAC's new communications director
Tell us about yourself.
I grew up in a military family and we were blessed to live in many different places. We settled in Prattville, Alabama, when my father retired and now claim it as home. I have an older brother, a sister-in-law, a younger brother, a younger sister and a sweet dog named Daisy. They are my best friends, my support system and my comedy club. I have never laughed harder than I do when I am surrounded by my family. I graduated from Harding University with a degree in public relations. I spend a lot of my time exploring in nature and listening to The Avett Brothers.

Tell us about your experience in communications at Harding.
In college I had the opportunity to serve as the copy editor for Harding University's student newspaper, The Bison. It was in that office that I learned the true meaning of the word "community," and I have been changed for the better ever since. I also interned with Bikers Against Child Abuse, a nonprofit group dedicated to help empower children who have been abused. That experience opened my eyes to see how a group of people with different personalities can work together to create a safe and effective community for others.

North Little Rock Elementary teachers, parents and students braved the heat for the campus’s back-to-school picnic on Friday, August 12.
"... These remarkable acts along with all of the visits, text, calls from our CAC family and most important knowing that your school board/staff are praying for you every day, reaffirms why we are at CAC. We love our CAC family and we are so excited that our kids have the opportunity of learning in this Christian environment."
