SPOTLIGHT: Jean Forney (Psychology, 2011) is an assistant professor of psychology at Ohio University and one of the 2019 honorees of 18 of the Last 9.

SPOTLIGHT: Amanda Grandjean (Political Science and Journalism, 2013), also one of 2019's 18 of the Last 9, is a lawyer and deputy assistant secretary of state who oversees all elections in Ohio.

15 CAS students and recent alums were named as semi-finalists in the 2020-2021 Fulbright U.S. Student competition -- the largest Miami cohort ever. All are recommended for further consideration by the Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Boards in their applied countries.

Mackenzie Holtz (Arabic) and Izzy Tice (Russian), semi-finalists for the 2020 Critical Language Scholarship by the US Department of State. If selected, they will attend a summer intensive language institute.

Congratulations to our 5 CAS faculty named as 2020 Miami University Distinguished Scholars by University Senate's Committee on Faculty Research. Three Distinguished Scholar Awards were given to (L to R) Scott Hartley, Terri Messman-Moore, and Elizabeth Wardle. Two Junior Faculty Scholar Awards were given to Ryan Gunderson and Rosemary Pennington.
