OU’s Resonance Series Brings All-Star Female Musicians to Norman for Educational & Performance Events OF+MO is proud to partner with the University of Oklahoma's (OU) Weitzenhoffer Family College of Fine Arts' School of Music to present this semester’s Resonance Series, which will host its first event series September 10-11 in Norman featuring the Super Sonic Shorties. Led by Nikki Glaspie who served as Beyonce’s drummer for six years, the Super Sonic Shorties are an eight-piece, all-female super-group made up of some of the most successful, Grammy Award-winning musicians who either currently or have previously supported pop stars, including Beyonce, Kanye West, Lizzo, Silk Sonic, Jay-Z, Bruno Mars, The Rolling Stones, Alicia Keys, The Jacksons, Destiny’s Child, Dave Matthews, Carlos Santana, Herbie Hancock and many others. Over two days, the band will participate in a number of activations both on the OU campus and throughout the City of Norman, which are FREE and open to the public.

OF+MO Presents Rhythm & Routes: Oklahoma Music Event at AmericanaFest OF+MO is proud to be a returning partner of AmericanaFest in Nashville, Tenn., taking place September 17-21. OF+MO will host Rhythm & Routes: Oklahoma Music Event showcasing live music sets from Oklahoma musicians, including Ken Pomeroy, Jared Deck, Blaine Bailey and Jason Scott & the High Heat. FREE and open to the public, this event will be held on September 18, 12-3 p.m. at Acme Feed & Seed located at 101 Broadway, and is co-presented by the Tulsa Office of Film, Music, Arts & Culture. Gathering thousands of artists, fans and industry professionals from all over the world, AmericanaFest will feature seminars, discussion panels, live music performances and networking events as well as the festival’s marque event, the Americana Honors & Awards Show, featuring performances by genre-leading talent, including several notable Oklahomans.

Small Business Owners Invited to Join SBA & OF+MO for FREE Film Webinar Hosted by the U.S. Small Business Administration Oklahoma District Office, OF+MO has been invited to present a FREE webinar for local small business owners on Small Business Support of Film and Music in Oklahoma on September 24, 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. CST. This webinar will highlight the many opportunities that the film and music industries can provide small businesses in Oklahoma as well as related OF+MO resources for support services, locations and statewide communities. Alongside leadership from the SBA and OF+MO, this webinar will feature special guests, including Executive Director of the Chickasha Economic Development Council Jim Cowan and Visit Bartlesville Executive Director Maria Swindell Gus.

Meridian Tech Launches Key Conversation Film Series in September Presented by Meridian Tech’s Film Industry Training, Key Conversations is an educational series bringing together aspiring filmmakers with some of Oklahoma’s most experienced industry professionals. Each session will highlight a department or a crew position that is integral to Oklahoma’s crew base and helps support the state’s growing film industry. Following the Q&A, attendees will have an opportunity to network with each other and the speaker. The first session is September 12 with a focus on producing with film professional Adam Ropp, with additional sessions on assistant directing, locations, costuming and makeup scheduled throughout the remaining season. Attendance options include physical and virtual.

Multiple Cherokee Nation Communities Achieve Oklahoma Film Friendly Certification OF+MO is proud to announce the following communities within the Cherokee Nation have achieved film friendly certification after completing the requirements of OF+MO’s Oklahoma Film Friendly Community Program: City of Claremore, City of Collinsville and City of Vinita.
Many thanks to our city leaders within these communities and our partners at Cherokee Film for their collaboration in these efforts. With over 30 film friendly certified cities and towns, the Oklahoma Film Friendly Community Program seeks to help communities develop the necessary protocol and permits to attract and support film and television productions in their areas.
