Dear students,
We hope you enjoyed Countdown to Craziness this weekend! Let’s keep that energy going, because this Friday (Oct. 28) is
Democracy Day at Duke.
Democracy Day is a campus-wide celebration of civic engagement. You’ll see everything from a screen printing workshop on BC plaza to a photo exhibit at the Nasher Museum. Most importantly, we’ll lead walks to the Early Voting site at Karsh Alumni and Visitors Center throughout the day. Check out full schedule
here.
Don’t forget: If you’re voting in North Carolina, you can register and vote early on the same day at Karsh. Early voting is open until November 5. Visit
Duke Votes for more information – including how to register if you haven’t done so already!
And if all this civic engagement is making you hungry, check out Duke Dining’s new
deal menu. In response to student feedback, vendors across campus are now offering Daily Devil Deals (items under $5) and Value Deals (meals under $10). Which
deal are you trying first?
Hope to run into you around campus soon. As always, say hi if you see us!
Go Duke,
Gary Bennett, Vice Provost of Undergraduate Education
Mary Pat McMahon, Vice Provost of Student Affairs
