Para Nordic Nationals Recap

Craftsbury Outdoor Center, Vermont // January 3-5, 2019
We had a tremendous showing at our 2019 Nationals Nationals. Skiers congregated from all across the country, as well as Canada, and we had competitors in all classes--visually impaired, standing, and sit-skiing. The Craftsbury Outdoor Center was an incredible host, and Vermont gave us some perfect winter conditions. All in all it was a successful and memorable week of skiing. CONGRATULATIONS to all who competed! You can find full results for both the sprint and distance races HERE

Sweden World Cup

Ostersund, Sweden // January 2019
We took a team of skiers, including our three development skiers Joy Rondeau, Ruslan Reiter, and Grace Miller, to Ostersund, Sweden for the season's second stop on the World Cup tour. The week was filled with podium performances, and exciting sprint finishes, and among the most memorable was Ruslan's break-out performance in the 10km classic race. Ruslan placed 6th in the 4-lap race, and his time back from the winner earned him a sub-70 point race. Congratulations Ruslan! Grace Miller impressed in the classic sprint race, where she qualified for the heats for the first time in her young career. Way to go, Grace! We are excited to watch these young skiers as they continue to improve their fitness and technique and move up in the ranks.

The Hartford
Ski Spectacular
Breckenridge, CO // December 2018

This year we had an outstanding showing for the week-long Nordic race camp at the Ski Spectacular event. USPN works with the event host, Disabled Sports USA, to put on the Nordic portion of this event.
With twelve sit skiers from across the country and eleven coaches and volunteers, the week was a huge success. We had first-time skiers as well as seasoned veterans in the group, and everyone made huge gains over the course of the week. Paralympians Joy Rondeau and Jeremy Wagner were present and shared their skill and experience on the trails.
Breckenridge Nordic Center showed us incredible hospitality, and the trails were in great shape. We are also excited to announce that we did not have any exciting moose encounters this year!
Thank you to everyone for making this event the incredible event that it is. Visit the Ski Spectacular website for more info!
