The program that began as an emergency response to the COVID-19 pandemic has become our primary way to get food out to children in our community. Our Community Food Kits consist of grocery sacks of shelf-stable food, fresh bread, frozen beef or chicken, and many include a hearty box of fresh produce. A dedicated group of volunteer Board members works alongside dozens of volunteers each month to distribute the kits to children and their families across seven Northland school districts.
In July alone, Feed Northland Kids distributed Community Food Kits to over 600 families as a part of our effort to support food-insecure children over the summer months. With your support, we can continue to provide food kits for children and families in the Northland.
Thank you to the many volunteer groups that made this possible including Frontmatec, Liberty North High School Interact Club, Olsson, Liberty PEO club, Verimore Bank, Parkville Book Club, and many others who contributed to packing and distributing kits this summer!
