fall leaves on campus
Dear students,
We know that this is the week when many things draw to a close, and you hunker down to wrap the semester. We're thinking about you and want to remind you – as always – to take breaks, pace yourselves, and find balance. Never underestimate the power of a good night’s sleep!
If you need a study break, check out DuWell’s calendar of free events. You’ll find everything from yoga to knitting to birding – all curated to balance out the stress of these last few weeks.
We’re so proud of what you’ve accomplished this semester. We hope you are as well. Let’s keep this momentum as we cross the finish line together.
You’re almost there – you’ve got this!
Go Duke,
Gary Bennett, Vice Provost of Undergraduate Education
Mary Pat McMahon, Vice Provost of Student Affairs

Racial Healing, Hope, and "The Solidarity Dividend"

Racism is the common denominator of our most vexing societal challenges. But not just in the most obvious indignities for people of color. Racism has costs for white people, too. How did this happen? And is there a way out?
Please join UNIV 101: Let’s Talk About Race, OUE, & the Duke Center for Truth, Racial Healing & Transformation for Racial Healing, Hope, and "The Solidarity Dividend" on Dec 8 at 5pm.
Reception to follow the event. For more information and to register, please click here.

Academic Advising Center Final Exam Reminder

Final exams begin December 14 and end December 19. The final exam schedule can be found here. In the event you miss a final exam, your course instructor is expected to record a grade of X, which means "absence from a final exam." Within 48 hours of missing an exam, you must present a compelling, documented explanation to your academic dean explaining why you missed the exam. If the absence is approved, the instructor will be notified, and you can make arrangements with your instructor to make up the exam.
