Welcome to this, our very first edition of what will be a regular PTPA e-newsletter!

We are very excited to create a place to share the many wonderful stories and information related to parish twinning.  Here you will find links to events, inspiring stories, project ideas, trip photos and more. Although there are tremendous challenges, especially in Haiti, many great things continue to happen among our parish twinning communities, and we want to share the good news.  We hope that you will be encouraged, inspired and energized for your twinning journey!

You will find here items related to PTPA itself, but we also want to share your stories, photos, ideas, etc. If you have an item you would like to be included in an upcoming edition of the PTPA e-newsletter, please send it along to enews@ptpausa.org.

TWINNING RELATIONSHIPS ARE A BEAUTIFUL EXPRESSION OF THE UNIVERSAL NATURE OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH:
HELPING OTHERS WHILE ENRICHING OURSELVES

Our mission ― to build and maintain parish twinning relationships ― is a very real response to the call of Jesus in Matthew 25 to reach out and share his love by serving those in need. The spiritual enrichment experienced by missioners engaged in twinning relationships is deeply profound:
we get as much if not more than we give.

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.
Don’t just give a man a fish; teach him how to fish.

Building a better future takes courage and persistence. PTPA helps our member parishes evolve to ensure a legacy of programs that last.
Together, we are building a better future.

Our friends at Unlocking Communities have LifeStraw water purification systems available for use at schools in Haiti. A couple of our parishes have installed some of their “LifeStraw Community” filters and they have gotten rave reviews. Each system is designed to provide water for 75-100 students or clinic visitors per day. The only requirement is to have a reliable water supply.

              PTPA co-sponsored this year’s CINCH conference
at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Carmel, IN.
This regional gathering of about 50 parishioners involved in parish twinning provided a wonderful opportunity to network and learn about some great organizations and projects going on in Haiti. We heard from Food for the Poor, Eye Doc in a Box, the University of Notre Dame Center for the Development of the Whole Child, HaitiNet (Starlink), Rose Heimann with PeaceCYCLE, Denny Baumann with Bethel Computers for Education, and David, PTPA Executive Director, gave an update on PTPA. We also met Mr. Mendy Calixte, the founder of a new company called Solargeny who is providing a very innovative solar energy system - https://www.solargeny.com. 
Mendy will be a guest on an upcoming PTPA Zoom Gathering.

Presenter:  Moussanto Dantil, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine
