Tallowood Times | Remember Tallowood Tomorrow

Dear Community of Joy
Who taught us to pray? From an early age I remember my mom praying. Then at a summer camp Ras Robinson taught me and my friends to pray with a pattern and purpose. I started that week to read a Psalm each day.

At seminary I loved to hear my professors pray. Virtus Gideon gave me a glimpse of gravitas. Jack Gray prayed like he knew God. T. W. Hunt wept as he prayed diligently for his students.

Jesus' disciples watched him pray and then asked him, "Teach us." He did. He still does if we ask. God is teaching me about prayer as relationship. Tozer encouraged a thousand thought prayers throughout the day after our quiet time.

Tallowood has a wonderful history as a people who pray. As we claim that heritage let's continue to learn about prayer. So what is the plan? Shall we read about prayer? Yes! Talk about prayer to each other? Yes! But most of all we learn to pray by praying. Join us in the journey!

Praying with you,

Duane
