Emergency Evacuation Drill This Sunday!
We will be having an Emergency Evacuation Drill on Sunday, October 18, at the end of the 10:00 Middle Hour and at the end of the 11:00 service. There will be detailed written instructions handed out that day, but here are the three main things you need to know:
• You may want to bring your coat into the sanctuary or classroom with you because when the fire alarm is rung, you will need to get up and immediately head to the exits.
• If you are sitting in the front of the sanctuary, you will exit out one of the side exit doors. Those in the rear of the sanctuary will exit from the main doors and proceed through the side door near the Legacy Room. All other adults will gather in the overflow parking lot in the office building next to the Fellowship. This might involve walking on unpaved ground, so please wear sensible shoes! o Adults with mobility limitations will have the option of sitting in chairs outside near those exits.
• All RE children, youth, and adults will also participate in the evacuation drill. Nursery kids will leave early to avoid the loud alarm, but all children and youth will gather by the little free library on Philip Lane.
• Once the All Clear is sounded, parents/ guardians MUST sign their children and youth out from the RE volunteer. Once signed out, families can return to the building or to their cars. Everyone is welcome to the return to the building for coffee and conversation!
This will be timed, so let's see how quickly and calmly we can evacuate the building. Thank you in advance for your participation!

Building a New Way - Thank You
Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Building a New Way workshop. We spent our time together grounding, celebrating what we've accomplished, and starting to imagine how our justice work can shift toward partnership instead of carrying everything ourselves.
OUR HUB's CENTERING QUESTION FOR THE YEAR What brings joy to our justice work as we work for collective liberation?
We're hoping to build a sense of mutual fulfillment and mutually transformative justice-making, both within our walls and through our community partnerships. The idea at the heart of the workshop: charity flows in one direction, while mutual aid assumes that everyone has something to give and something they need. When the people most impacted lead, and we respond rather than decide for them, the work gets lighter, and it gets more joyful.
If you have questions or feedback, please email me at allison@fvuuf.org and we can have a conversation over phone or zoom.
With gratitude & joy, Rev. Allison (Sabbatical Support Minister)

"Show us What You've Got!"
We know there are so many skills, talents, hobbies, and interests among our Fellowship members & friends, and we would love for you to share them with us!
Do you write? Were you an accountant? Do you speak another language? Juggle? Mime? Trapeze? Can you do hairstyles? Or troubleshoot Excel? Are you a photographer? Librarian? Woodworker? Painter? Do you love to organize closets? Or talk about Star Wars? WE WANT TO KNOW.
This simple 4-question survey will help us know when we should invite you to the perfect Fellowship role or opportunity, but don’t worry, you can always decline. To show us what you've got, go to tinyurl.com/UUshowus.
